Community Native Planting Day Whitechapel Reserve, Arrowtown.

On Saturday April 5th we invite our community to Whitechapel Reserve at Arrow Junction for our first autumn community planting day.

This is a fun family friendly event with plenty of opportunity to meet old and new friends while helping native trees and shrubs into their forever homes.
We’ll be adding 1500 plants to the site over the morning so many hands will make light work. We’ll stop for a delicious morning tea mid morning and then finish with a complimentary BBQ lunch!

About Whitechapel Reserve:
Community volunteers have planted an amazing 23,000 plants here since 2015. This once weed infested reserve is now flourishing as a grey shrubland site, providing food and habitat for native birds, lizards and insects.
Key species are kōwhai, plagianthus, corokia, coprosma, olearia and matagouri.

As it is situated alongside the Arrow River Trail it is a perfect location to visit by foot or bike.
