Community Nursery Volunteering

The Whakatipu Reforestation Trust’s Community Nursery is the heart of their operations. Each year, volunteers propagate and grow approximately 10,000 native plants to support reforestation efforts at keystone planting sites throughout the district.

Join the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust for one of their weekly nursery sessions throughout the summer to support their vital work in restoring native biodiversity within the Whakatipu Basin. These sessions are social and inclusive, and no prior experience is required. It’s a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet likeminded people, and gain knowledge about our native flora and fauna. Sessions are drop-in style.

Wednesday sessions run in the morning from 9-12pm and in the evening from 5.30-7.30pm (February and March only)

Please bring your own gardening gloves, hat, water, and sunscreen.
